How To Edit The Student Portal

The Student Portal is a central hub for student engagement featuring events, organizations, forms, announcements, links, and more. Only users with Campus Administrator access can make edits.

Please note, only those with Campus Administrator access will be able to make changes to the Student Portal. If you do not see the options outlined below, please reach out to your Campus Administrator for assistance. 

 

How to Access the Portal Editor

  1. Hover over the gear icon in the left navigation and click Settings.

  3. On the preview of your portal, click the pencil icon in the top right to begin editing. Screenshot 2025-02-13 at 3.59.51 PM.png

  4. Make your changes in the pop-up editor.

  5. When finished, scroll down and click Save & Publish Screenshot 2025-02-13 at 4.12.25 PM.png — changes go live immediately.

Dashboard Page Header

Portal title text shown over the cover photo (optional).

Logo

Recommended size: 350px by 70px, transparent background.

Cover Photo

960px × 375px PNG (text only if not using the header). GIFs are supported.

Should contain no text unless you have chosen to not use the Dashboard Page Header and instead use a Cover Photo with Text on the image.

Cover Photo Blur

A slider (0–30) to add an overlay blur to the cover image.

Featured Content

You can highlight important organizations, events, experiences, points, skills, or forms that link directly from the homepage.

Colors

  • Background - This is typically your institution's secondary color. This should not be a light color, never white, because the default header text for these files are going to always be white.

  • Background Two - This is typically your institution's main color

  • Navigation Bar - Best practice is to use white #fff

  • Navigation Bar Link - Institution's main or secondary color

  • Header Text - This color will show anytime someone uses the h1, h2, h3, etc. header text in HTML Rich Text.

  • Button - This should not be a light color, never white

  • Link Text - Hyperlink text color

Smart Transcript

  • Transcript Color- The school can choose a color to liven up their Printable PDF Smart Transcript.

    • If this field is left blank it will default to the Background color chosen above.

  • Transcript Disclaimer - This text will appear at the bottom of the Printable PDF Smart Transcript. The institution can choose to personalize this text field with something like, "This institution endorses all information presented on this Co-Curricular Transcript".

    • If this field is left blank it will default to say "Issued:(Today's Date)" Ex. Issued:7/21/22

Social Media

  • Facebook ID: Enter their Facebook ID only. The Facebook ID is everything that comes after the last backslash (/) on their Facebook URL.

  • Twitter: The Twitter handle is simply their Twitter username without the @

    • Ex. themoderncampus

Resource Links

You can enter any resource links. It's nice to add their student life page to create their first resource link.

News Feed

Using RSS (Really Simple Syndication) a campus can add a news feed to its site.More information on RSS feeds can be found at this link: https://www.lifewire.com/what-is-an-rss-feed-4684568You can use a feed validator to check if the provided RSS feed will work: https://www.rssboard.org/rss-validator/

We recommend updating this section regularly to make your home page more of a "living document."
