Integrating Google Analytics with your Modern Campus Involve account is a great way to gain deeper insight into user engagement, traffic patterns, and content performance. This guide walks you through the process, step by step, so you can start collecting valuable data in just a few minutes.

Why Connect Google Analytics?

Google Analytics helps you:

• Track how students and staff interact with your Involve site

• Understand which events, organizations, or pages attract the most attention

• Make informed decisions about content strategy and engagement

What You’ll Need

Before you begin, make sure you have:

• Access to your institution’s Google Analytics account (Google Analytics is a free tool available to anyone with a Google Account!)

• Account admin-level access to your Involve account

• Your Google Analytics Measurement ID (for GA4)

Locate Your GA4 Measurement ID

1. Log into your Google Analytics account.

2. Copy the Measurement ID located at the top of your dashboard (it begins with “G-”).

Integrate Google Analytics and Your Involve Portal

1. Go to your Involve site and log into your admin dashboard.

2. Select the gear icon on the bottom left control panel.

3. Select Integrations. 

   

4. Paste your GA4 Measurement ID into the Google Analytics field.

5. Save your changes. 

   

Once saved, your Involve site will begin sending usage data to your Google Analytics dashboard. It may take up to 48 hours for data to start appearing in your reports.

Things to Keep in Mind

• Success Looks Different for Everyone
  When reviewing your analytics data, remember that “success” depends on your specific goals. If your goal is driving more students to explore the platform or gather data on most visited sections, this is a great source of data for you! If you primarily focus on admin dashboard usage such as event check-in and finance you may see less traffic to your student portal.

• Student Portal Only
  Google Analytics tracks activity on the student-facing web portal. It does not include data from the admin dashboard.

• Web Portal, Not Mobile App
  Analytics only capture interactions on your public site (e.g., yourinstitution.presence.io). Activity within the Involve mobile app is not tracked through this integration.
