Differences in Membership Counts

Unique Membership

Your Unique Membership count is the number of individuals on your campus who are currently on the roster of one or more active organizations. You can find this number in three locations: 

1. On your Admin Dashboard

2. On the Organizations tab

3. On the Organizations > Membership tab

Total Membership

Your Total Membership count is the total number of members in each of your campus organizations. If a person is a member of two different organizations, they will be represented in that count twice. If a person has multiple positions within the same organization (for example, they are a member, advisor, and officer within a single organization), they will be represented in that count once. You can find this number on your Organizations > Membership tab. 

Average Membership

Your Average Membership count is a calculation of the average number of members per organization based on your Total Membership count. You can find this number in two locations: 

1.  On the Organizations tab

• The Organizations tab calculates average membership by dividing the Total Membership count by Total Organizations. Organizations that do not have members are included in this count.

2. On the Organizations > Membership tab

• The Membership tab calculates average membership by dividing the Total Membership count by Total Organizations. Organizations that do not have members are NOT included in this count.

What membership counts can I see?

• Campus Administrators can see the complete membership counts for all organizations on their campus
• Category Administrators can see the complete membership counts for all organizations within their category. 
• Organization Administrators can see the membership counts for all organizations that they are Administrators for. 

Keep in mind that the numbers you see may vary based on the filters you have selected on either the Organizations or the Membership tabs.
